Technical Data Sheet
Product Description
HQN PU AROMATIC BINDER is a single-component,
moisture-curing aromatic polyurethane binder formulated for binding rubber
granules such as SBR and EPDM. It is a solvent-free, MDI-based system that
reacts with atmospheric moisture to form a strong, flexible, and durable
matrix.
Typical Applications
- Rubber flooring (wet pour
systems)
- Running tracks & jogging
tracks
- Playgrounds and children’s play
areas
- Sports courts &
multipurpose surfaces
- Rubber tiles and
shock-absorbing mats

Mixing Ratio
- Binder : Rubber Granules = 15
– 25% by weight
(Exact ratio
depends on application and granule size)
Application Method
- Ensure rubber granules are
clean and dry.
- Mix HQN PU AROMATIC BINDER
thoroughly with SBR/EPDM granules.
- Spread the mixture evenly on
the prepared surface.
- Compact and level to required
thickness.
- Allow to cure under ambient
conditions.
Curing Time
- Initial set: 4 – 8 hours
- Full cure: 24 – 48 hours
(Depends on temperature and humidity)
Packing
Storage & Shelf Life
- Shelf life: 6 months in
unopened containers
- Store in dry conditions at 10°C
– 35°C
- Keep containers tightly sealed
to avoid moisture contamination
Limitations
- Aromatic polyurethane may yellow
under UV exposure
- Recommended for base layers or
dark-colored systems
- Not UV stable – use aliphatic
binder for top coats
Health & Safety
- Contains isocyanates – use
appropriate PPE
- Avoid skin and eye contact
- Use in well-ventilated areas
